If you were to ask three people, "What does 3 X 12 equal?"; and one said "35", another said,"36", and the third said, "37"; you would say, "They can't all be right! At least two of them have to be wrong, because there can only be one right answer!." And you would be right, but how would you know which one was right? You would go to a proper authority - a qualified math teacher or math book. Yet, if you ask three people, "Is baptism necessary to salvation?"; and one says, "No", another says, "Yes", and the third says, "It doesn't really make any difference"; many people would say that all three are right, because each has a right to his own opinion. |
